I had the opportunity to work as a photography consultant at the production of “King of Terror”: a video clip for a song of the italian metal band Mesmerize.

The plot of the video is inspired by the italian comics series published by Astorina since 1963: Diabolik.

Eva Kant is a fictional character and she is the girlfriend of criminal mastermind Diabolik, also known as King of Terror. Eva is portrayed as an attractive blonde young woman; she drives an E-Type Jaguar, and usually goes into action wearing a heavy sweater and pants, no mask and no revealing clothing. She usually wears her hair in an up-do.

In this video Eva is the main character and is played by Marina Crialesi. She is a beautiful italian model, 19 years old, from Rimini.
Behind the scenes: I had about 40 seconds to take her this picture. I told her to walk and I shot with available light. I was very busy that day because I had to held reflectors and to help the cameramen (Davide Celoria) to get the right light, so I couldn’t take many pictures.

Mesmerize is a metal band. In 1988, Andrea Garavaglia (drums), Piero Paravidino (guitar), Folco Orlandini (vocals) and Paolo Chiodini (guitar) create Mesmerize, united by their passion for the great metal bands from that period, such as Iron Maiden, Manowar and Helloween; the line-up will be ultimately settled in 1994 with the enrolment of Andrea Tito (bass), who replaces former bass players Luca Valisi and Paolo Fiori.
In 2003 Mesmerize face the first line-up change since almost ten years: the guitarist Paolo Chiodini left the band because of personal reasons and was replaced by Luca Belbruno.

The song King of Terror is dedicated to Diabolik of which Folco (the singer) is a great fan.
